Object Movement — Theory

You’ll move objects constantly while creating and refining patent drawings. This lesson shows you the two fastest ways to do it with precision.

Two Ways to Move Objects:

• 🖱️ Click and Drag – Grab any object and place it wherever you need
• ⌨️ Arrow Keys – Nudge shapes with your keyboard for pixel-level control

These two methods cover everything from quick layout changes to subtle alignment fixes.

Hover over a shape, then click and drag to move it.
Hold `Shift` to keep the movement straight — only vertical or horizontal.

Select a shape and tap the arrow keys to move it in small steps.
Hold `Shift` for finer, pixel-precise adjustments.
